Home group

Our home group meets on Wednesday evenings at 8pm in the home of one of the members, approximately following school term times.  There are about 14 regulars, with an average attendance of around 9, so there’s room for a few more if you are interested. It's  members come from all the mainstream Christian traditions represented in the village.

The evenings start and finish with informal chat. Tea and biscuits are provided and we include a short prayer time. Contact us on info@stjohnshayfield.org.uk if you are interested. The next programme is still being finalised, but will be largely concerned with the Bible book of James.

James is a very practical  book which examines both the joys and problems of Christian living. It also raises a number of issues which have been controversial in the history of the church. We look forward to some interesting and (we hope) enlightening evenings.

Colin Smith will lead most of the other evenings though occasionally other members undertake this task on a voluntary basis.  Additional volunteers are always welcome. We are also always looking for a suitable trip out or guest speaker to replace one of the sessions. A topic based DVD may be used instead of some of the published sessions, particularly if the usual leaders are not available.
