Welcome to St Johns

St Johns is a small village chapel situated on the edge of the Peak District National Park, and easily accessible from both Manchester and Sheffield. For its historical interest and simple beauty, the chapel is a Grade 2 listed building. Opened in 1782, St. Johns is one of the oldest Methodist churches in the world. More on our history .

More than just a building, however, St. John’s is very much a living church.  We have a small, but regular and caring congregation, meeting every Sunday at 10.45am, and fortnightly at 6pm, Our members play a full part in the life of the local community and our premises are widely used by village groups.

We welcome new people to our fellowship, and see ourselves as a learning community seeking to build each other up and serve our community. More information about our beliefs are on the "Our beliefs" pages.
